This green oasis can be found in the heart of the city. In it you’ll find interesting monuments, gardens and over 15,000 trees. This park offers culture, leisure and sports to everyone that visits. Some of the features that can be found here are: the Large Lake, the Velázquez Palace, the Glass Palace and the statue of the Fallen Angel.
How to get there: Catch the 27 Bus towards Embajadores, this will take about 28 minutes. Alternatively, the 9 metro towards Puerta de Arganda will take you to the park. Stop at Plaza de Castilla.
This Royal Palace was the official residence for the Royal family. Just walking around the grounds you’ll find impressive sights, elegant iron fencing, and a courtyard with an unexpected view of the countryside. Once in the Royal Palace you’ll have access to lavish halls, banqueting rooms, the throne room and residential areas.
How to get there: If you arrive at the metro station at Opera, it is about 5-minute walk to the entrance of the palace. Alternatively, if you are coming from the centre, around the Plaza Mayor, then you can follow Calle Mayor directly to the palace.
Found on the Paseo de Castellana, the Santiago Bernabéu is the home of Real Madrid FC. If you cannot make a game, tours are available which give you access to all corners of the stadium. The tour allows you entry into the presidential box, the bench area, changing rooms and the playing field.
How to get there: The stadium is 1.3km from the conference hotel. The metro line is the best method to get to the stadium to avoid traffic. Metro 10, stop Santiago Bernabeu lies right next to the stadium. In the centre, line 10 can be caught at Plaza de España or Tribunales but can otherwise be reached with a transfer.
